Pu covers are the best front line defence in infection control.
Easy to clean, Easy to spot potential damages, vapour permeable and robust enough to be used time and time again in any medical application.
A Major benefit is the ability of the material to be welded rather than traditional sewing which denies access of bodily fluids through the seams into the foam core which then becomes a bacteria breeding ground.

Or MRSA as it is know has a tendency for the rapid evolution of virulence and drug resistance.
EMRSA15 and EMRSA16 are resistant to various antibiotics and it is known that Staphylococcus aureus can survive intracellularly.
The NHS "Clean Your Hands" campaign with the alcohol based hand rubs has helped no end. It has been said that even if this scheme cuts infection by no more than 1%, the benefits to patients would be most welcome and the scheme will be a self funding success.

The outer Pu covering is the first line of defence in both Patient Comfort and easy sanitizing.
The inner side of the outer cover is white so any nicks, cuts or slashes are easily visible. The cover is extremely durable and can be washed at high temperature.
Anti-bacterial sanitizing liquid applied with a cloth is recommended.
Please contact your Infection Control Nurse for specific sanitizing advice.
